On the sidelines, Hung also met with World Bank President Jim Yong Kim earlier the same day. He called on the Bank to increase preferential loans for Vietnam, especially for those in service of sustainable development, infrastructure upgrades, and poverty reduction.
As one of the countries most affected by climate change, Vietnam suggested the Bank assist the nation in coping with its effects. President Kim showed his delight at the country’s socio-economic progress and reiterated the organisation’s continuing support for Vietnam.
