VTV.vn - The Nam Muc hydro-power plant, the biggest of its kind in Dien Bien city, will officially join the national grid in May.

It is hoped to help improve the overall social-economic development of the province. The first generator group at the plant was successfully put into no-load operation in Muong Cha district yesterday. The Nam Muc hydropower plant was designed to have two generator groups with a total capacity of 44 MW, and annual power output of 176.33 KWh.

The investor has already paid compensation as regulated to households affected by the project, implemented a long-term agricultural production plan and reforested 13.2 ha. The 2nd generator group will be put into no-load operation in June 2015.
