This is also the chance to tighten the friendship between the two countries. A Ho and A Cha are the 2 Vietnamese - Lao friendship villages. People of the villages along with border guards at Tam Thanh station are enjoying a year end meal to celebrate the year’s achievements.
"Lao people visit and celebrate Tet with us. We’re so happy that we can celebrate Tet together", Am Nho, living in A Xing Commune, Huong Hoa District, Quang Tri Province, said.
"Tet in Vietnam is fun and cosy. As Vietnamese border guards have helped people in Laos a lot, especially teaching local people how to grow cassava and bananas, we can improve our living standards. I’m very grateful for their help", Kheng Kham Keo Bun Huong, Head of economic group, Denvilay village, Laos, said.
Many gifts have been given to households and children living in difficult circumstances in the Vietnam-Lao friendship villages. These gifts will help people here have a happy lunar new year.
