The volunteer soldiers and army experts fought in the Xieng Khoang area. Their remains are preserved at the Vietnam-Laos friendship Graveyard in the central province of Nghe An.
Since 2013, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs have been working with relevant agencies to conduct DNA tests on over 1,000 remains. This is the third time the results have been given to the families of the war dead.
