Vietnam and Japan bolster agriculture co-operation

The highlight was the announcement of the medium and long-term vision on Japan- Vietnam Cooperation for Vietnamese agriculture.

Agriculture contributes more than 20% to Vietnam’s GDP and employs 70% of the Vietnamese population. Japanese know-how, based on advanced technology, hi-tech agriculture, better competitiveness and superior management will help Vietnam to restructure the sector and provide greater added value, laying down the foundations for its sustainable development.
