Living in a 25 meter house, Vũ Ngọc Dũng's family, like others in Hanoi, uses many electronic household appliances for daily activities. In order to save electricity, his family has used energy-saving devices for the past 2 years and seen positive results.
Electricity saving is only one solution to implement the National Energy Efficiency Programme launched by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in 2006. The programme has encouraged investment in energy-saving and eco-friendly technologies. After 10 years, nearly 5% of total energy consumption has been cut.
Electricity consumption in Vietnam is forecast to reach 60 thousand GWH each year, producing 34 tonnes of carbon dioxide by 2030. Therefore, using energy-saving devices not only brings about economic benefits, but also helps the environment by reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
