VTV.vn - Vietnamese fresh produce are soon to be exported to Japan, a market renowned for its quality standards.

The news was confirmed by Japanese working with farm producers in Lam Dong province on a comprehensive co-operative programme to introduce high-tech agriculture to local farmers in order to improve the quality for fresh produce.

Bell peppers grown in this garden are to be exported to Japan. According to a recently signed contract, at least 600 tonnes of bell peppers grown here will be exported to Japan this year. The bell pepper season usually lasts most of the year, so it provide stable incomes to growers. Dalat GAP Company has used high-tech facilities to grow the peppers to meet Japanese standards.

Exporting produce to Japan brings higher incomes. In order to meet Japanese market requirements, farm producers in Da Lat have used high-tech agriculture with assistance from the Japanese experts. Modern equipment is used to monitor chemical and pesticide usage. Currently only 10-15% of the area is exported.

Japanese experts have worked with producers in Lam Dong to identify weaknesses that hinder the export of fresh produce in order to take full advantage of export opportunities.
