VTV.vn - Nearly 2.5 million foreigners visited Vietnam in the first three months of this year, a year-on-year rise of 19.9%, according to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO).
This is good news for the tourism sector, as the first months of the year saw significant growth. Although the number of foreign arrivals to Vietnam slightly dipped 0.6% in March to 820,480, the rate grew 28.3% in February. The GSO reported that domestic tourists reached 18.7 million in the first quarter of this year and the tourism sector earned 4.9 billion USD in revenue, up 21.2% over the same period last year.
