The event saw the participation of Politburo member Nguyễn Thiện Nhân, the president of Vietnam Fatherland Front. The first prize went to a programme to assist patients by Vietnam Youth Union, Vietnam Association of Young Doctors and National Volunteers’ Centre. Two runner-ups went to research on using herbal extracts on preventing pests on string beans and a safe and cost-effective source of light.
The competition was launched 5 months ago and attracted 200 entries in various fields such as culture, education, healthcare, transportation, science and technology, tourism and environmental protection. The competition was jointly held by Communist Magazine's editorial board, Ministry of Science and Technology, and Vietnam Youth Union.
