In the talks, President Obama’s visit was described as underscoring the commitment to the US-Vietnam comprehensive partnership.

At the reception for US President Barack Obama, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong reiterated that Vietnam considers the US one of its top partners and that both countries should deepen their comprehensive partnership.

He emphasised the priorities of bilateral co-operation on economics, trade and investment, science and technology, human resource training and climate change response, saying that the ratification of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement would be addressed by the 14th National Assembly on July.
