At the meeting, President Truong Tan Sang shared Vietnam’s experiences on the implementation of judicial reforms, stressing that judicial reforms are a complicated process that requires strong political commitment and must be done in sync with legislative reforms, and administrative reforms. He also affirmed that Vietnam will help Laos in this matter.
President Sang expected that both countries’ ministries ofjustice will boost bilateral cooperation in human resource training and will put the agreement on legal judicial cooperation into action. For his part, Lao Minister of Justice Bounkeut Sangsomsak appreciates Vietnam’s support, and said that Laos is planning to launch a National Steering Committee on Judicial reform in 2020 and hope to learn from Vietnam’s experiences on this issues.
