Vietnam's role in UN praised

The comments were made at a meeting with NA Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong in New York on Tuesday. The NA Vice Chair invited the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to visit Vietnam this year during the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting and the 40th anniversary of Vietnam's UN membership.

Earlier the same day, the Vietnamese dignitary met with several leading professors from New York Law and Harvard universities to discuss the political situation in the US and the globe. The professor expressed the hope that former US president Barack Obama's Pivot Asia strategy would not change under President Trump.
