Vietnam’s naval vessel 381 and other ships from the other 9 ASEAN nations and its 8 dialogue partners, namely China, Japan, South Korea, the US, India, Russia, Australia and New Zealand attended the exercise.
This is the first time the Vietnam People’s Navy has sent a warship to international manoeuvres. Between May 2 and 15, the vessel will participate in a marine security drill in Brunei and an anti-terror drill in Singapore.
The exercise aims to enhance co-operation between ADMM-Plus nations in maritime security and counterterrorism, while promoting information sharing in responding to contemporary training scenarios.
