At the talks, the Lao leaders highly appreciated the co-operation between Ho Chi Minh City, Vientiane and Champasak Province, and said that Ho Chi Minh City’s support from financial experts during the years have helped Lao increase tax income and prevent the loses in tax income.
The Lao leaders hoped that Ho Chi Minh City would expand co-operation with other localities in Laos, especially those in the remote areas. Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Dinh La Thang said the city would continue the projects more effectively and emphasised that the city would make its best efforts to keep and develop relations.
He also required the close co-ordination of the two sides to ensure the solidarity and maintain the joint opinions of ASEAN, contributing to the peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
