BÀ RỊA-VŨNG TÀU — The Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) of Region III rescued two fishermen on a sinking ship offshore Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province on December 4.

At around 7pm, the MRCC received notification from Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Coast Guard that a ship carrying six fishermen had sunk around two nautical miles away from the Vũng Tàu Cape.

The MRCC worked with the Maritime Administration of Vũng Tàu to send rescue boats to the scene. At 9pm, two fishermen, Trương Minh Trọng, 41, and Nguyễn Thành Đông, 39, were found and rescued.

The fishermen said that for some reason the ship’s hull was breached, causing it to sink quickly, and that there had also been a power outage. The survivors said they had no idea what happened to the other fishermen.

The authorities are still searching for the four missing fishermen. — Quang
