KHÁNH HOÀ – Khánh Hoà Province Police on Tuesday started legal proceedings against Trần Vũ Hải, head of Trần Vũ Hải Law Firm, and several other individuals on tax evasion charges, the Ministry of Public Security has announced.
The same day, the agency searched his home and workplace in Hà Nội for investigation.
Based on initial investigations, Khánh Hoà Province Police began legal proceedings against Hải, his wife Ngô Tuyết Phương, director of Hà Nội Law Company, and Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Hạnh and Ngô Văn Lắm, Hải's accomplices residing in Nha Trang City, Khánh Hoà Province.
The suspects are accused of illicit land trading in Nha Trang City.
They were all charged with tax evasion as regulated at the Article 161 of the 1999 Penal Code revised in 2009 and banned from leaving their residence.
The agency is expanding investigations into the case. – VNS
