HÀ NỘI — The occupancy rate at operational industrial parks (IPs) nationwide has hit 74 per cent, according to the Economic Zone Management Department under the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
By the end of June, there were 326 IPs nationwide with total area of 95,500ha. Of which, industrial land area was 65,600ha, accounting for 68.7 per cent of the total.
Of the total, there were 251 IPs operational. The rest are under construction or awaiting for land clearance.
The country has 17 coastal economic zones (EZs) established so far on about 845,000ha on land and water.
In addition, Ninh Cơ EZ is to be established in the northern province of Nam Định.
The ministry said in the first half of the year, IPs and Ezs attracted 340 foreign investment projects with total registered capital of US$8.7 billion, while the domestic figure was VNĐ82.9 trillion in 334 projects. — VNS
