HÀ NỘI — The Government Inspectorate’s Anti-Corruption Bureau has launched two hotline numbers and an email address to receive public reports on corruption.
Complaints related to corruption cases can be reported through a phone call to 08048228 (during working hours) or a message to 0911156161.
The bureau also receives reports through email cucchongthamnhung@thanhtra.gov.vn.
The hotlines are part of the implementation of the Law on Corruption Prevention and Combat and other legal documents.
The amended Law on Corruption Prevention and Combat was one of the nine laws adopted at the sixth session of the 14th National Assembly last month.
With 10 chapters and 96 articles, the law – which will come into force on July 1, 2019 – stipulates the expansion of anti-corruption activities in the non-State sector. A chapter was included to specify the roles of leaders of agencies, organisations and units in the anti-corruption effort.
According to the Government, the number of public complaints and denunciations this year has increased compared to 2017.
The Ministry of Public Security has also opened a hotline to receive complaints about corruption and wrongdoings committed by police officers.
Agencies, organisations and individuals can report incidents to the ministry at 0692342593.
The information provided must be in Vietnamese, and a full name, address and telephone number must be included.
Reports will be discounted if providers do not declare their full name, address and telephone number, or supply insufficient, vague or unsubstantiated information. They will also be discounted if callers insult the officers on duty. Complaints not related to corruption will also be excluded. — VNS
