Marking its fifth year, the event was jointly held by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Party Central Committee Commission for Communications and Education, and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee.
Politburo member, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee Commission for Communications and Education Vo Van Thuong attended the event and presented prizes to the winners.
Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha said that the contest is a practical event to implement the Politburo’s Directive 05 on studying and following President Ho’s ideology and morality within the education sector.
The contest offered an opportunity for the young people to enhance their awareness of President Ho Chi Minh, learn deep values in his Testament, and follow his teachings, contributing to nurturing lifestyle, morality and ideology for the younger generations, Nha noted.
This year’s contest focused on contents including 50 years of implementing President Ho’s Testament, President Ho’s teachings among the youth, and Ho Chi Minh’s ideology on Vietnam’s sea and islands, among others.
80 outstanding contestants were presented with prizes from the organising board, including overseas Vietnamese students.
The three first prizes for categories A, B and C went to Dau Minh Huy, a 12th grader from Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted in Nghe An province; Huynh Thanh Than, a third-year student from Foreign Trade Univesity; and Pham Van Truong, a resident in Ea Po commune, Cu Jut district, Dak Nong province.
The contest attracted the participation of nearly 500,000 contestants, including 400,000 high school students, 38,000 university students, and 38,500 teachers under 35 years old.
