Speaking at the launch ceremony, journalist Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, hailed that family-themed writing contests show writers’ hope in life and their appreciation for their loved ones.
Minh, Head of the PCC Commission for Communication and Education and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association shared that as a father of a daughter, he held that the father-daughter relationship is very special.
The contest, the second of its kind, is open to Vietnamese citizens at home and abroad. Each contestant can send no more than three entries, each containing 1,000 to 1,500 words in Vietnamese.
The entries can be presented as letters, prose or diaries telling readers about the bond and memories between father and daughter.
Contestants should send their submissions to Gia Dinh Viet Nam Magazine headquarters at No.2 Le Duc Tho Street, Cau Giay District, Hanoi or via email at chavacongai.gdvn@gmail.com no later than June 10.
Winners of the contest will be honoured at a gala scheduled in Hanoi on June 28, on the occasion of the Vietnam Family Day.
