VTV.vn - Construction started on a centre for research and transfer of green growth technology in Bac Ai district, the south central coastal province of Ninh Thuan, on March 17.

The facility is the second phase of a project to develop and apply green technologies. It has a total investment of VND56 billion (US$2.45 million) sourced from the state budget under the national target programme on response to climate change and promotion of green growth.
The centre, sitting on an area of 30 hectares, has workshops for research on and manufacturing of microbiological fertiliser, along with areas for plant breeding studies.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Hoang Van Thang said the centre will help the province develop clean agricultural production. Local people in the district will receive assistance from the centre to switch to green, clean, water-saving, climate-resilient cultivation.
The centre, invested by the ministry’s Vietnam Academy of Water Resources, is scheduled to be completed by late December 2018. Similar projects are under implementation in Hai Duong, Hanoi, and HCM City.
