Duc’s winning logo features the legendary Lac bird of Vietnam and Garuda eagle bird, the national emblem of Indonesia, which both symbolise an aspiration for the peace and prosperity of people in the two countries.
The birds’ wings also represent the national flags of Vietnam and Indonesia.
The number 65 is integrated into the shape of the birds spreading their wings in order to fly forward.
The logo is lauded for creating harmony in both colour and design while succeeding in representing the growing friendship between Vietnam and Indonesia.
Tran Hoai Duc and four other consolation prize winners will be honoured at an award ceremony to be held online at the Vietnamese Embassy in Jakarta on August 19.
The contest was held between July 1 and 31 by the Vietnamese Embassy in Jakarta and the Indonesian Embassy in Hanoi. It received more than 770 entries from both Vietnamese and Indonesian entrants.
The event aims to raise the awareness of the Vietnamese and Indonesian people of bilateral diplomatic ties, which have been nurtured and developed by the leaders and peoples of the two countries.
The launch of the contest also marked the start of a series of activities being held in 2020 to mark 65 years since Vietnam and Indonesia established diplomatic relations.
