Following the 2017 All-Star season, VNTM announced plans to proceed with the show in 2019 and completed the preliminary round of auditions. However, the show was postponed for a number of reasons, one of which was the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recently, representatives from the show's production house revealed information about the re-signing of the contract to produce and broadcast Vietnam's Next Top Model in 2024. They also mentioned that they had held an online meeting with key figures involved in the production of the original America's Next Top Model to brainstorm new creative ideas for the comeback.
It's known that VNTM 2024 is also open to feedback from viewers on the entry options: focusing on female (or male) models or running a version with both male and female contestants.
VNTM's return comes at a time when reality TV shows about models are making a comeback after a period of silence. A competition for male models has also been promised s for a second season in 2024 following a successful first season.
