WHO supports Vietnam

PM Phuc underlined Vietnam's commitment to the United Nations Millennium Development Goals in relation to health. He hoped WHO would continue providing technical assistance, policy advice, and support to Vietnam in the treatment of infectious diseases and non-communicable diseases.

In particular he called for support in preventing the spread of the Zika virus and preventive medicine. Young-soo said he appreciated Vietnam efforts in improving health care, especially health insurance policies, even when Vietnam is only a low middle-income country. He also said the World Health Organisation would work closely with Vietnam to control diseases and improve public health care.
