This year, the Thua Thien Hue hosted the live broadcast of the grand finale for the Road to Olympia Mount Competition at Ngo Mon Square, with over 8,000 Hue residents wearing traditional ao dai, uniforms, and conical hats to cheer enthusiastically as contestant Vo Quang Phu Duc competed in the final.
Students wear traditional Hue conical hats to show their support for Phu Duc.
Students form a red-and-yellow national flag, leaving a powerful impression on the audience of the 24th season of Road to Olympia Mount final showdown.
Before the four contestants entered the 24th Road to Olympia Mount Finals, the "Truyen Lua" Ceremony was held at Thai Hoa Palace and Ngo Mon in the Hue Imperial City, recreating a ritual from the Nguyen Dynasty in which the names of the valedictorians were placed on the Golden Tablet.
Specifically, after the presentation of the Golden Tablet in the grand courtyard, a ceremonial procession moved toward Ngo Mon, where a cylindrical scroll case known as the Van Phung, containing the names of the doctoral graduates, was lowered by officials from the Five Phoenix Pavilion. Traditionally, officials from the Ministry of Rites would receive it and carry it to Long Dinh before displaying it at Phu Van Lau.
Instead of being displayed at Phu Van Lau, in this 24th Road to Olympia Mount Final, students from Quoc Hoc Hue High School received the scroll at the Ngo Mon Square location, symbolically honoring the scholarly heritage of this historic region.
The torch-passing ceremony is organized with great attention to detail, solemnity, and rich traditional culture.
This event not only preserves and promotes Thua Thien Hue’s historical and cultural values but also serves to inspire and encourage Vo Quang Phu Duc as he competed in the Road to Olympia Mount Finals.
Vo Quang Phu Duc triumphantly won the laurel wreath with a remarkable score of 220 points, securing a third victory for Quoc Hoc Hue thanks to his excellent performance and extensive support from the Thua Thien Hue audience.
