The Week 2 - January - Quarter 1 competition of Road to Mount Olympia 2025 was a race between four contestants: Truong Cong Thao (Buon Ma Thuot High School - Dak Lak), Bui Hoan Hieu (Ha Long Specialized High School - Quang Ninh), Luc Duy Manh (Cho Don High School - Bac Kan), and Pham Nguyen Anh Vu (Che - Ghe - Va - Ra High School - Ben Tre).
The first contestant to enter the Individual Warm-up Round was Cong Thao, who earned 40 points after answering 6 questions. Meanwhile, Hoan Hieu also scored 40 points, Duy Manh had 50 points, and Anh Vũ scored 20 points.
The 12 questions of the joint General Warm-up Round began. The contestants took turns ringing the bell to answer, accumulating points as they went. After the round, the scores of the four contestants had changed: Anh Vu had 40 points, Cong Thao and Hoan Hieu both had 50 points, and Duy Manh was in the lead with 55 points.
The keyword for today’s Overcome Obstacle Round was a 3-letter puzzle. In the first question, Hoan Hieu, Duy Manh, and Anh Vũ all answered "virus," which was the correct answer. As soon as the first image was revealed, Cong Thao, Duy Manh, and Hoan Hieu all rang the bell to answer the Overcome Obstacle question.
Since he was the first to ring the bell, Hoan Hieu had the right to answer, and his response was "flu". This was also Duy Manh’s answer, while Cong Thao suggested "liver". In the end, Hieu was the contestant who correctly answered the Overcome Obstacle question, impressively taking the lead with 120 points. The other contestants' scores were as follows: Cong Thao and Anh Vu both had 50 points, and Duy Manh had 65 points.
The Speed-up Round is considered to be the most competitive segmentand can quickly level the scores or allow contestants with the highest points to leap ahead with the highest points, as even a one-second difference can change the outcome.
The first questionwas answered correctly by all four contestants, with Duy Manh earning 40 points for being the fastest. Similarly, the second question also earned all four contestants points. The competition became increasingly exciting as all four contestants performed well in this round. However, the maths question caused a "split" among the contestants, as none of them answered it correctly.
By the end of the Speed-up Round, the players' scores had changed significantly and were very close: Duy Manh took the lead with 165 points, Hoan Hieu had 160 points, Anh Vũ scored 120 points, and Cong Thao had 110 points.
Duy Manh was the first to enter the Finish Round. He chose the safe option of three 20-point questions. With his calm demeanor, the student from Bak Kan student scored an excellent 20 points on the first question. However, Duy Manh failed to score on the next two questions. At the end of the round, Duy Manh had 185 points.
Hoan Hieu also chose three 20-point questions. However, the Quang Ninh contestant failed to answer any of the three questions correctly.
Next up in the Finish Round was Cong Thao, who also selected three 20-point questions. Despite losing his cool, he answered the first question correctly. Duy Manh, on the other hand, scored 20 points from Cong Thao on a question about cuisine. For the final question, Cong Thao chose the "Star of Hope" and earned 40 points.
Anh Vu chose a 20-20-30 point question set. Duy Manh earned 20 points from Anh Vu’s score pool. Like Cong Thao, Anh Vu chose the "Star of Hope" for the last question on literature and earned an additional 40 points for the correct answer.
Thus, the winner of this week's competition and the owner of the laurel wreath is Duy Manh from Bắc Kạn. The final scores of the four contestants are as follows: Cong Thao 140 points, Hoan Hieu 160 points, Duy Manh 225 points, and Anh Vũ 150 points.
