In the digital era, television is no longer limited by space and time—it has become a powerful bridge that brings rich and convenient experiences to viewers. VTVgo, the national digital television platform developed by Vietnam Television, is a testament to this transformation, constantly evolving to meet the increasingly diverse demands of its audience.
VTVgo – the completely free television streaming application developed by Vietnam Television – was first launched in 2014. Initially designed as an online television viewing platform, it successfully met the viewing needs of audiences. Over time, many important features have been updated and improved across various versions of VTVgo. The platform has gradually become a go-to destination for watching television anytime, anywhere and across multiple platforms.
The fourth generation of VTVgo incorporates artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and personalized content recommendations. In addition, it offers standout features such as live streaming of all VTV programs and reruns of select specials . VTVgo is available on both iOS and Google Play and consistently ranks among the most downloaded apps each week.
“The content on the VTVgo app must be rich and diverse, not just news, but also entertainment, lifestyle, and children’s programs. Moreover, we apply technology to ensure the best viewing experience tailored to each audience group. By using artificial intelligence and big data, we can better understand our viewers, and only then can we deliver the most suitable content”, said Mr. Pham Anh Chien, Deputy Director of the Center for Digital Content Production and Development, Vietnam Television.
In addition, starting April 1, the Sign Language News Bulletin, which is broadcast daily at 10:00 p.m. on VTV2 will be moved exclusively to VTVgo. Most importantly, VTVgo will soon offer exclusive live programs that will not be aired on traditional TV channels. This opens up new opportunities for viewers to enjoy fresh and engaging content available only on the digital platform.
“These programs are prepared in advance with promotional materials and visuals. When they go live, we will send notifications to every VTVgo account to remind users to tune in”, Said Nguyen Trung Hieu from the Center for Digital Content Production and Development, Vietnam Television.
Vietnam Television has also signed agreements with TV manufacturers and distributors in the Vietnamese market to pre-install the national digital television platform VTVgo on smart TVs and integrate a dedicated VTVgo button on remote controls. Vietnamese users can now easily and quickly access the VTVgo application on their smart TVs with just one press of a button.
