Vu Lan festival celebrated nationwide
VTV.vn - Pagodas across the country are celebrating the Vu Lan Festival – to fall on Wednesday or the 15th day of the 7th lunar month.

Vietnamese people consider this an occasion for family gatherings as well as expressing love and gratitude to their ancestors and parents. In days running up to the occasion, many pagodas are organising prayers for ancestors and passed loved ones. Many people go to pagoda on this occasion, wearing either a red rose if their parents are alive or a white rose if their parents have passed away. The rose is a symbol of love and gratitude shown by every family towards their ancestors.
