On the evening of November 5, the fourth edition of the National Journalism Awards for 2022-2023 was held in Hanoi. This event is of great significance as it is held as part of the celebration of the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnamese National United Front - the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2023). The event was jointly organized by the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front, the Vietnamese Journalists Association and Vietnam Television.
The award ceremony honored 54 works selected by a review board. With a democratic, objective, impartial and highly responsible spirit, the jury conducted a thorough and unanimous selection process to award 4 A prizes, 10 B prizes, 12 C prizes and 28 consolation prizes in four categories: print media, electronic media, radio and television, representing 121 media organizations at central and local levels.
These winning works are all true to the theme, meticulously researched, show in-depth reporting, demonstrate the dedication and perseverance of journalists in exposing corruption and negativity, have a significant social impact, and produce positive results in the fight against corruption and negativity.
Among the winners, the documentary film "Unwavering", which aired in 5 episodes on VTV1 from September 11, focusing on the issue of corruption, is one of the four outstanding works to receive an A Prize. The film was made by two directors, Nguyen Nhat Duy and Phan Y Linh, from the Documentary Film Center of Vietnam Television. This work is highly topical and effectively reflects the anti-corruption efforts of the Party and the State.
In addition, the work "Closing the Forest - Closing One Door and Opening Many Doors" by the group of journalists Nguyen Van Giang, Pham Van Viet and Truong Le Thanh Tan, aired on VTV9 in 2022, was awarded a C Prize.
