VTV documentary wins at 28th Prix Jeunesse

VTV.vn - Vietnam Television's documentary, "Sister", has won an award at the Prix Jeunesse Prize - one of the world's most prestigious children's television awards, held every two years in Munich, Germany.

"Sister" has won the Heart Prize, the prize awarded to the film with the most votes at the festival. Of the 400 entries that participated in this year's festival, Vietnam Television had 3 documentary films in the final round. The documentaries "Way to School" and "Deadline" were nominated for UNESCO and Unicef's special prize.

The documentary Sister tells the story of Pia, an eight year old girl of Ha Nhi ethnic minority. She was the eldest of the three children of the family. Her two brothers always cause Pia trouble and she dreams of having a sister. However, her mother gave birth to another brother which concerned Pia a lot on how to take care of them.

Sister won the Silver Prize at the National Television festival last year.
