As a hard-hit locality during the latest wave of COVID-19 infections in Vietnam, Hai Duong has officially ended its regulatory 15-day social distancing period as required under Directive No. 16/CT-TTg on March 3, and has moved to a new normal state in COVID-19 prevention.
Continuing its ongoing efforts to support the community to overcome the pandemic, Shinhan Bank, through the NFVC, has granted VND100 million to 100 disadvantaged children affected by COVID-19 in Hai Duong, aiming to encourage and empower them to overcome this challenging period. The donation ceremony was held at the NFVC’s office in Hanoi.
Sharing about the meaningful activity, a Shinhan representative said the lender always wishes to further spread the values of humanity to the community and make more contributions to the social development of Vietnam. Through its meaningful corporate responsibility activities, the bank aims to partly share the difficulties suffered by residents in Hai Duong during the pandemic outbreak.
The activity is within the meaningful corporate social responsibility programmes initiated and carried out by Shinhan from early 2020 to support communities with such challenges and in their fight against the pandemic.
Last year, the bank spent VND5 billion on COVID-19 prevention activities through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee as well as donating more than 300 set of gifts and medical supplies to medical teams and soldiers at quarantine venues. Shinhan also supported the purchase of more than 16.5 tonnes of watermelons to empower farmers in the Mekong Delta to overcome difficulties caused by COVID-19.
