Vinh Phuc records five new cases of COVID-19

VTV.vn - On May 2nd, the northern province of Vinh Phuc announced five new cases of SARS-COV-2 infections including a resident of Hanoi.

After 34 days with no new COVID-19 community infections, on April 29th, Vietnam recorded several new cases in the northern province of Hà Nam. As of May 2nd, several other localities had confirmed new patients, including Hưng Yên, Hà Nội, Vĩnh Phúc, Yên Bái, and Hồ Chí Minh City.

On May 2nd, the northern province of Vinh Phuc announced five new cases of SARS-COV-2 infections including a resident of Hanoi. These cases are related to the group of Chinese experts who were isolated at Như Nguyệt 2 Hotel, Yên Bái Province, where 4 Indians and 1 hotel staff were confirmed positive for Sar-Cov-2. Vĩnh Phúc province and Hanoi have tracked and quarantined all F1 cases while F2 cases have been ordered to quarantine at home.

Previously, Ha Nam patient No.2899 was detected as the source of transmission for 15 patients in the province and in Hanoi, Hung Yen, and HCMC. Tracing of these cases resulted in more than 690 F1 and around 1,900 F2 cases. As of yet, Hung Yen province has taken 1134 samples for COVID testing from Hoàng Xá village, Tiên Tiến commune, Phủ Cừ district. Of the number, 785, so far, have produced negative results.
