Addressing the festival’s opening ceremony, Nguyen Quoc Ky, President of the Vietnam Cuisine Culture Association said the Vietnamese Tet Festival 2020 offers a venue for families, especially those from the younger generation, to come and experience the meaning behind the rituals involved in a traditional Lunar New Year festival.
Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director General of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, stated the event offers both local families and foreign tourists the opportunity to experience a traditional Vietnamese Tet, with the aim of creating fresh tourism products to attract both domestic and foreign tourists to Ho Chi Minh City.
The festival serves as an important event that helps the tourism sector fulfill its objectives of welcoming approximately 20.5 million international visitors during the course of 2020, with tourism revenue in 2020 anticipated to be roughly VND 830,0000 billion.
