But like any start-up ecosystem businesses only benefit from closer links. As part of this trend, Vietnamese start-ups in California's Silicon Valley have organized the Viettech Summit the first steps in bringing the community's hi-tech start-ups together.
Do Anh Minh, co-organizer of Viettech Summit, said: “Many of my friends work in the technology in Silicon Valley. My mother, father, uncle and aunt also work in Silicon Valley. But they're not connected while the Chinese and the Indians in the US have formed close-knit communities here”.
This thinking is partially why Đỗ Anh Minh and his friends have organized the Viettech Summit in California's Silicon Valley. The event wanted to build a network among Vietnamese start-ups, investors and experts in the US.
Nguyen Thi Man, Director of Sand Hill Angels, US, said: “It's common for people to want to meet and consult each other about their expertise before they can work together. Gaining mutual trust is very important. Events like this are quite helpful”.
This event was a great chance for networking and sharing experiences. And young business people have benefited.
The first summit attracted many young people. Organizers hope it will become an annual event for Vietnamese start-ups in the US.
