The event was attended by Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh. Addressing the event, the foreign minister stressed that the commission has promoted its role of introducing the history, culture and people of Vietnam to the world.
Over the past 40 years, it has created dossiers as well as successfully persuading UNESCO to recognize eight Vietnam’s natural and cultural world heritages and 11 intangible world heritages. At the ceremony, the foreign minister awarded the prime ministerial certificate of merit to the commission for its efforts.
