Vietnamese team ready for 43rd WorldSkills Competition

VTV.vn - In about a month, Vietnam will participate in the 43rd World Skills Competition in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The annual competition is the world's largest professional education event, attracting competitors from over 50 countries. Let’s see how the Vietnamese teams have prepared for the contest.

Huan will compete in the carpentry category in this year’s competition, and has already chosen the materials for his performance. Huân practices daily with his supervisors, and is aiming to get a gold medal for the team.

Tran Van Huan, Vietnamese participant in carpentry said: I fully understood the competition rules and the requirements. In my field, I know what the judges are testing. It’s not easy at all, but I am aiming to win a prize"

Participants can compete in a vast diversity of skills such as bricklaying, decorating, plumbing and heating. The best young Vietnamese in their chosen field are selected to compete at the event each year, but they face challenges in their bid for excellence.

Dang Quang Phong, Vietnamese participant in bricklaying: "It's an international competition, so language skills are needed to communicate with other contestants and to read books to improve our skills"

The Vietnamese delegation has 14 members who will compete in 13 disciplines. It is the first time in history that the WorldSkills Competition will be held in South America, promising make it an unforgettable experience for the Vietnamese team.
