The films include Trong khoi may (In the Smoke and Clouds) by Nguyen Trinh Thi, Khi toi 20 (When I’m 20) by Phan Dang Di and Thanh pho khac (Another City) by Pham Ngoc Lan.
The 20-minute film When I’m 20 and 25-minute film Another City have been selected to join the 2008 International Film Festival in Venice and the 2016 International Film Festival in Berlin.
In addition, the film In the Smoke and Clouds, at 37 minutes, helped director Nguyen Trinh Thi win the best artist award for digital/video under the Prudential Eye Awards 2016.
After screening the films, a seminar on Vietnamese independent cinema will be held, with the participation of directors Nguyen Trinh Thi and Phan Dang Di.
The event offers an opportunity to bring domestic cinematographic works closer to international friends, contributing to the development of Vietnamese contemporary cinema.
