According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, rice exports in the first seven months of this year reached 4.84 million tons, valued at nearly US$2.6 billion, a 30% increase over the same period in 2021.
The price of Vietnam's 5% broken rice increased to 588 USD per ton on August 1st, up 55 USD/ton compared to 10 days ago.
The Vietnam Food Association reported a sharp increase in domestic rice prices. In Hanoi, rice prices increased by 1,000–2,000 VND/kg depending on the type of rice.
In the Mekong Delta, the domestic price of rice increased by 7,000–7,200 dong per kilogram in recent days. In the North and Central Highlands, the price of rice increased by 9,000 VND per kg compared to the beginning of the crop.
