VTV.vn - A documentary about internationally renowned Vietnamese monk and peace activist Thích Nhất Hạnh will be shown in cinemas in the US, beginning on September 12th.

The documentary, titled Walk With Me, was co-directed and co-produced by two British film directors Marc J Francis and Max Pugh over three years in Mai Village.

The idea for the documentary came to Francis by chance when he was asked to film a teaching tour with Thích Nhất Hạnh in the US and Canada in 2011. At that time, he had a chance to experience monastic life for himself. Inspired by Thích Nhất Hạnh’s life, he teamed up with his old friend and fellow film director Pugh.

Commenting on the documentary film, director Alejandro G. Inarritu, who won an Oscar for The Revenant, said the film gives a platform for that quiet voice that is so needed in this time of fear and ignorance.

Walk With Me was first introduced to the public on March 15th 2017 at the Texas International Film Festival.
