Vietnamese leaders meet Gazprom chairman

VTV.vn - State President Tran Dai Quang and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received a delegation headed by Russian oil and gas group Gazprom Chairman Alexey Miller.

Miller said that the joint ventures between Gazprom and Petro Vietnam were opening up huge opportunities for co-operation. Miller that Gazprom was one of Vietnam’s top partners, and the group was doing its best to boost co-operation.

State President Tran Dai Quang said he was keen to see co-operation extended, especially in engineering and oil refining.

The Gazprom chairman also met with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. The prime minister proposed Gazprom and PetroVietnam speed up oil and gas exploration and extraction. He also said that Vietnamese government wanted to encourage the Russian group to research environmentally-friendly fuel in Vietnam. Gazprom chairman Miller said he noticed great potential for investment in the production of natural gas in Vietnam. The chairman invited the prime minister to visit Gazprom in the coming time.
