Speaking at the event, Head of the Central Economic Commission Tran Tuan Anh reviewed the profound impacts of COVID-19 on all aspects of life, including the economy and the business community, in the past two years.
He stated that, sharing such difficulties, the Party and State have provided support to help enterprises stand firm and rise up.
Anh, as a Politburo member, said he recognised the VYEA’s efforts to diversify its activities and affirm itself as a reputable association within the business community and society, as seen in the Vietnamese Golden Star Awards.
While praising the contributions of the business community and the 200 companies receiving the awards, Anh urged them to continue promoting their role in the economic front so as to increase income for their employees and contribute to the country’s rapid and sustainable development.
According to the organisers, the top 200 companies generated total revenue of 747 trillion VND (32.7 billion USD) in 2021, paid 40 trillion VND (1.75 billion USD) in taxes, and created jobs for 450,000 workers.
The top ten posted revenue of 554 trillion VND (24.2 billion USD), contributed 9 billion VND (394 million USD) to the state budget, and employed 107,000 workers.
