VTV.vn - Overseas Vietnamese in China’s Macau Special Administrative Region gathered to welcome the Lunar New Year (Tet) at a celebration held by the Association for Mutual Support of Vietnamese Fellow-Countrymen in Macau (China) on January 5.

Addressing the event, Le Thanh Hung, a representative from the Vietnamese Consulate General in Hong Kong and Macau (China), stressed that the Vietnamese Party and Government attach great care to Vietnamese expatriates worldwide, including those in Macau.

He highly appreciated the Association for Mutual Support of Vietnamese Fellow-Countrymen in Macau for their active operations over the past year, particularly their launch of charity activities to support needy families in the community as well as disadvantaged people in the homeland.

He expressed his hope that the Association would take more practical actions to encourage its members to support each other and improve their livelihoods.

He also extended Lunar New Year (Tet) wishes to OVs in Macau, calling on them to follow the regulations and laws of the host country while promoting the patriotism and traditions of the nation.

Participants at the celebration enjoyed art performances praising Vietnam’s land and people and enjoyed Vietnamese traditional dishes such as spring rolls and chung (square) cakes.
