From today, the Vietnam National Administration of Road Traffic will be granting international driver’s licences to successful applicants, once they have reached an agreement on fee levels. However, this licence is only valid for use outside of Vietnam. Vietnamese drivers are still required to provide domestic a driver’s licence.
This also means foreign drivers holding international driver licences of the 73 countries under the 1968 International Convention on Road Traffic can drive legally in Vietnam.
