In order to prevent any risk of COVID-19 infection, the Sangha has ordered local managing committees to organize ceremonies in a simple manner and avoid gathering large crowds. Venerable Monk Thich Thanh Nhieu, deputy director of the managing committee of the Buddhist Sangha of Vietnam, delivered a speech, emphasizing the importance of solidarity and humanity during the pandemic.
He noted under the leadership of the Party and State, Vietnamese Buddhist followers have joined hands with the people in combating the COVID-19 epidemic, resulting in initial success.
The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha will continue to encourage its followers to practice within legal guidelines, fulfill their citizens' obligations, and actively participate in social activities, including charity and poverty reduction./.
