Under the MoU, the two sides will strengthen cooperation and exchanges in journalism towards expanding cooperation in information and communication channels, improving the professional qualifications of journalists, and strengthening mutual understanding and friendship between the two countries' people.
Addressing the event, VJA Vice President Tran Trong Dung said the signing of the MoU is based on cooperation between the two nations, including politics, diplomacy, economy and trade, especially on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Vietnam-Belarus diplomatic ties (1992 - 2022).
According to Andrei Kryvasheyeu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the BAJ, the MoU not only enhances the exchange of professional cooperation but also collaboration in other fields related to press activities.
The Belarusian side wishes to further strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese press agencies, including newspapers, e-newspapers, and radio and television stations, he said.
This cooperation will be a premise, creating conditions for the two sides to share information and enhancing delegation exchanges, contributing to improving professionalism among Vietnamese and Belarusian journalists, he added.
Under the MoU, the VJA and the BAJ will reinforce cooperation as well as attend media forums, seminars, meetings, events and projects.
The two sides agreed to create conditions to support media agencies with bilateral agreements on exchange and cooperation in content production. They will alternately organise visits and working sessions, and exchange delegations of journalists to study and share skills in each other's countries.
According to the VJA, the organisation has 288 chapters nationwide with more than 21,200 members.
