On this day 54 years ago, the US Air Force started to spray Agent Orange/dioxin over southern Vietnam. 80 million litre of Agent Orange were sprayed poisoning the environment and people. Its effects still persist till now.
At least 4.8 million people were exposed to the dioxin and 3 million people are suffering from the effects of Agent Orange in Vietnam.
For many years, businesses, philanthropists and other domestic and overseas organisations have been making efforts to help victims of Agent Orange. The struggle for justice, and winning significant US government compensation for Agent Orange victims continues to receive support from people throughout the world.
