In his opening remarks, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) and President of the Vietnam Youth Union Nguyen Ngoc Luong spoke highly of the VYEA achievements, hailing the association’s innovations and initiatives to attract and mobilise members through the establishment of young entrepreneur clubs.
Over its 29 years of establishment and development, the Association has developed its network at all levels in 63 provinces and cities nationwide. The Association's members have created jobs for about 3 million employees, and earned total annual revenue of more than 30 billion USD.
He called on delegates at the congress to promote democracy and wisely select and nominate individuals who are truly outstanding, qualified, and prestigious to the VYEA’s Central Committee for the 2022-2025 tenure.
In the first session, the delegates voted to adopt the working regulations, working agenda, and election regulations. They also elected the 24-member Presidium, the 3-member Secretariat and the Delegate Eligibility Appraisal Board with 5 members.
As part of the congress, 68 members were presented with HCYU’s certificates of merit for their excellent contributions to the VYEA’s operation and youth movement in the past tenure.
On March 31, the congress will review the association’s operation in the 2018-2021 term; discuss goals and orientations for the next three years, and elect the VYAE’s Central Committee of the 2022-2025 tenure.
