Vietnam to implement electronic vaccine passport

VTV.vn - Vietnam will deploy electronic vaccine passports connected to European countries.

This information was released at the National Webinar on deploying electronic certification of Covid-19 vaccines that took place on Tuesday. At the workshop, localities raised difficulties in data entry infrastructure, electronic signatures and assignment of focal points. C

urrently, the Ministry of Health has issued a form and passport issuance process with certification software that displays personal and vaccination information via QR codes.

This software has been tested at a number of central hospitals. Previously, the British Embassy and PATH health organization supported the Ministry of Health to link national immunization data according to the standards issued by the World Health Organization, the European Union and the United Kingdom to facilitate the moving in and out of the country.

Currently, the country has over 76.6 million people vaccinated with two full doses of the vaccine, of which 3.5 million people have been vaccinated but do not have ID cards or are wrongly formatted.
