VTV.vn - On the morning of September 8, Vietnam Television President Nguyen Thanh Lam held talks at VTV headquarters with Daniel Gorgosz, President of Polish Television (TVP).

At the meeting, President Nguyen Thanh Lam gave an overview of VTV and its strategy for developing digital platforms. Alongside its television channels, VTV is accelerating the development of VTVgo, expanding its on-demand content and strengthening its programming for younger audiences, overseas Vietnamese communities, and international viewers.

In particular, VTV is developing the English-language channel Vietnam Today, which focuses on short-form, contemporary content covering Vietnamese culture, tourism, cuisine, experiences and people. VTV is also building a Media Hub designed to facilitate the exchange of programmes, images and video footage with international partners.

Introducing TVP, President Daniel Gorgosz said it currently operates on a large scale, with around 16,000 employees, 11 offices and a diverse production and content distribution network. TVP is also accelerating its digital transformation as audiences, particularly younger viewers, are  shifting from traditional television to digital platforms.

A core advantage for TVP lies in its extensive historical television archive, which is being restored, digitized and repurposed for new platforms through targeted technological investment. By expressing interest in sharing and exchanging this content with VTV, TVP is paving the way for joint ventures in cultural and historical programming, as well as documentaries.

Recognizing similarities in their digital transformation journeys, the two broadcasters agreed to cooperate in several practical areas, including the exchange of news, images, video footage and licensed programmes; sharing documentaries, films and historical archives; exchanging experience in technology, digitization and archival restoration; journalist exchanges; and exploring co-production projects.

Regarding program offerings, VTV proposed Vietnam in Full Colour and productions from Vietnam Today for a potential  licensing  exchange. In response, TVP presented several short-format programmes and suggested they share the two sides share respective content catalogues to identify titles that are suitable for exchange.

Both sides showed particular interest in co-producing programmes about the culture, tourism, cuisine and people of Vietnam and Poland. VTV said it was ready to support TVP journalists working in Vietnam, and vice versa. TVP also invited VTV representatives to visit Poland and attend several major programmes and events organized by the broadcaster.

To ensure the cooperation produces tangible results, TVP proposed establishing specialized working groups for individual areas. On the VTV side, the International Broadcasting Department, Programme Department and Research and Development Center will serve as focal points for coordination. The two broadcasters will soon exchange content catalogues and identify which products and projects can be implemented first.

After assessing the potential for cooperation, both sides agreed that the long-standing friendship between Vietnam and Poland, along with the strong people-to-people ties and the Vietnamese community in Poland, provides a favourable foundation for the two broadcasters to promote a  greater mutual understanding of  their  peoples, cultures and national identities.

From content exchange and archival sharing to co-production and technological cooperation, VTV and TVP are gradually developing concrete areas of collaboration, making relations between the two broadcasters increasingly substantive and effective.
