To marks its 56th anniversary, Vietnam Television (VTV) unveiled a new visual identity across its channels and affiliated platforms at midnight on September 7, 2026, marking a new stage in the broadcaster's development.
Designed by VTV’s Television Technology and Graphics Center with expert consultation, the new identity features custom-designed VTV lettering and channel numerals from 1 to 10. The new identity retains VTV’s iconic three-colour palette, with brighter tones reflecting a more youthful and dynamic image.
VTV’s new identity marks a new stage of development
Brand identities are often refreshed when an organization reaches a major milestone and prepares to pursue a new development strategy. As goals, operating models and approaches to audiences evolve, an existing visual identity may no longer fully convey the direction a brand wants to take.

VTV is entering a new phase of development, expanding beyond traditional broadcasting toward a multimedia, multi-platform model while maintaining its core mission and values.
According to media and branding expert Le Quoc Vinh, the new visual identity reflects VTV’s repositioning in the digital era and its broader development strategy. Rather than departing from its 56-year legacy, the redesigned identity symbolizes VTV’s transformation while carrying its established values into a new era.
Toward a multi-platform media ecosystem
Technological development has profoundly changed the way audiences consume content. Viewers are no longer limited to fixed television schedules, as they can now access information anywhere and at any time through smartphones, computers, social media, and digital platforms.

This shift is particularly evident among younger audiences. With an abundance of channels and content formats available, users can easily switch to another platform if a product fails to meet their expectations. Therefore, the ability to reach, engage and retain audiences has become increasingly important for media organizations.

VTV’s new visual identity is designed to be clear, consistent and instantly recognizable across television, mobile apps and social media. Its system-wide rollout also strengthens the connections among VTV’s channels, units and platforms, creating a unified brand image while serving diverse audiences.
VTV’s new identity is more than a logo change
Brand identity encompasses visual elements such as logos, colours and typography, while brand image reflects public perceptions and values. The two must align.
VTV’s new identity, therefore, goes beyond a visual refresh to reflect the values the broadcaster seeks to convey in today’s media environment.

In today’s overwhelming flow of information, VTV’s role extends beyond reporting events to selecting and verifying content that is trustworthy, relevant and useful.
This mission is reflected in its new visual identity, in which triangular shapes, motion effects, and filter-like structures symbolize the process of screening and refining information before delivering it to audiences.
VTV also aims to develop purposeful, high-quality content tailored to the needs and interests of different audience groups.
A fresh look while preserving VTV’s identity
VTV’s updated identity retains its signature three colours and familiar lettering, preserving decades of brand recognition while introducing brighter tones for a more youthful, modern look.

The transition from dark to light tones also conveys a sense of movement and forward momentum. VTV is not becoming a different brand. Rather, it is retaining its core identity while adopting an appearance better suited to society and the digital age.
The new identity is only the beginning.
After 56 years, VTV is moving toward a more unified media ecosystem, and its new visual identity will help connect its channels and platforms.
Yet true brand transformation goes beyond visual changes. The dynamism of VTV’s refreshed identity must also be reflected in its content, production, workplace culture and audience engagement.
“A brand that wants to be seen as dynamic cannot be dynamic only in its logo, colours, or on-air graphics. That dynamism must be reflected in the way it works, in its content products, in its working environment and in the way VTV interacts with the public,” said Le Quoc Vinh.
VTV’s new identity marks a beginning rather than a destination. Its success will depend on how well the refreshed image translates into meaningful audience experiences.
If this vision is reflected in high-quality content and audience-focused services, September 7 could signify more than just a visual refresh; it could mark the start of a new chapter for VTV in the digital era.
